Thank you to everyone who signed up to my Aurorabeadz Facebook fan page I have drawn a winner and that is Connie and I have emailed her. I have a fantastic 154 fans now which is awesome, thank you again.

I am very busy this week with preparing for my interview for the nursing agency on Thursday and my Art and Craft Exhibition from Sat 5th to Wed 9th Sept. I have not had time to get to my torch this week so there won't be any new beads up for sale this week. I am making jewellery tho so keep your eyes open for pictures and at some point in next 2 weeks I will announce my September prize draw!

Gotta go I have some fingerprint pendants in the tumbler which need to be retrieved and finished for a customer.

Pink just had to go!

As much as I like pink the background and theme for this blog was just starting to get to much! So I thought I had better grow up and so I have gone for a much more calming blue. I do hope you like it. I have also gone for the wider screen so you don't always have to scroll down to read my musings.

News....I asked my friends on Facebook to choose a colour this evening and Sabine chose yellow so I chose blue to compliment it and have spent the evening making yellow and blue beads and actually have enjoyed myself. I have made a few big beads and a set which I will show you tomorrow once they have finished annealing in the kiln.

Anyway best be off spend a bit of time with my hubby before I crash for the night!!!

See you tomorrow

OMG so much to say!!!

...Wow what a lot has happened over the last few days! We arrive home from the "Flame Off" last night totally exhausted but very happy and smiley. I have spent an obscene amount of money that I don't have but I have definitely become aware that life is to short. I have not been irresponsible, have to be strict for a couple of months but none of it is on credit which I am very happy at!!! and the bills are paid this month!

The top photo is one that has been made by one of my regular customers, Jean. In her recent order I popped in the glass beads above as a little thank you for her custom. I met her on Friday at the Flame Off and she showed me the bracelet she had made out of my gift! The picture is not that fab and that is my fault (sorry Jean) but it is a beautiful bracelet and fab to see something with my handmade beads in !!!

The bottom photo is a custom order that I am posting tomorrow and again I am quite chuffed with it. It is quite small as it is for an 11 year old.

So how did the Flame Off go. OMG where do I start I met so many people and have probably forgotten the names of as many again cos my memory can be quite shocking! It was so fantastic to meet everyone, some again and some for the first time! I had a truly awesome 2 days. The demos were awesome. Sarah Hornik demo'd her ribbon bead sadly I missed her demo on Saturday as I was manning the GBUK stand. I saw quite a chunk of Julie Ann Denton boro dragon demo which was some 2 hours long and completely awesome, she cut glass with scissors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anouk demo'd 2 of her beads which were fab. I admit to thinking that Anouk's demo may be the one that I found of little use from a technique and hint perspective...boy was I wrong her beads are so cool and it is truly enlightening to watch anyone who is a bead maker do their thing!

I have posted pictures on my Facebook page please feel free to go take a look!

I am going now I am hoping to get some torch time tonight not sure I am up to it still very tired (!) but will definitely be up there during the week!

Plinky

There have been times lately that I have struggled for things to say mostly cos my life is fairly mundane and right now I have been quite busy in the day job with teaching committments 6 hours a day 3 days a week. One more week and things quieten down a little which will be nice! Anyway there is a website on the Internet that offers you a prompt service if you are struggling for things to Twitter or Facebook or blog or if you are just generally a saddo geek like mw who spends an inordinate amount of time on the internet doing not very much at all!!! Anyway Plinky can be found here Go have a look see what you think! I will try to find out who I am on there and link to it so you can follow me there as well if you want!

Anyway struggling a little for topics to discuss tonight so the post below about Top Gun was prompted by Plinky.

Go on its a bit random and a bit fun!!!

One week to go...

So...this time next week my first bead show will be over! How will it have gone? Will I have fun? Am I sweating just thinking about it? I am looking forward to it, I have put loads of time into prepping it and actually managed to get 3 days off this week (normal day off Wednesday and 2 days annual leave on Thursday and Friday) to really prepare for it. I am going to set out my table on the dining room table at home and take picures of it so I can replicate it on the saturday and not get to bogged down just before the show starts.
My sister is coming with me so Tony gets childminding duty...not that he minds bless him, a day with the girls is cool for him. Got the final burn this week to get as much stock made as possible. I made more angels an snowmen last night and should try to make some more cos I think they may be popular!

I may be a bit more quiet than usual getting ready for the show but make sure to keep popping in and checking I will gopssip when I can.

One other thing before I go...the last couple of weeks have been quite surreal from a Facebook perspective. People I went to school with have found me and loads of pictures have made their way onto the net of my old school friends. Hello Rob, Andrea, Elle, Becky, Clare, Kevin, Gary, Jackie, Teresa, Jo and Matt, bizarre or what but so nice to hear from people I have not seen for some 20 years (except Jo and Teresa I see you guys loads!!!)
