A little something to show you all!

In case you had not noticed I make spacer beads to supply people who make jewellery as well as my other beads. I had a big order this week for 80 beads which fortunately I managed to do before becoming unwell. I have also decided to do a monthly special on my spacer beads and this month it is black and white. I may have mentioned this earlier but I finally got a picture sorted

You get all these beads for a mere £10 which is a £2 saving on the usual price. If you go to my website here and go to the Made to Order page you will find more information.

Other news Imogen has gone to the Lake District for a week with her Dad and his family. It is lovely for her that she gets to spend quality time with her Dad but I do miss her when she is away and Savannah definitely does. I don't miss the bickering tho LOL !!!

Another week and Tony is off with us not quite sure what the plan is yet and I am still job hunting so money is very tight but it will be lovely to spend some time with the family and chill, it has been an interesting, difficult and challenging year and some family time is very much needed.

Hope you are all ok. Have a lovely weekend

Spacer beads

One of the things I supply is spacer beads. These are small beads that can be used in jewellery designs on their own or to compliment bigger components or designs. I do 2 sizes "normal" and mini. My Gallery of current beads available can be seen here and info on my spacer beads and how to order can be found here.

This is not a blatant post promoting my wares but to show you something I have been mulling over. How can I let my customers see what my spacer beads look like in real life. and I have come up with this ideaSo...what do you think. Those of you who make jewellery would you find this useful? Do you have any suggestions to anything that may make this a better resource for you?

I am interested in what you think so don't be shy leave me a comment and tell me what you think. I will likely launch these at the "Big Bead Show" in October so watch this space.

Spacer bead queen

I am the spacer bead queen. My hands are shaking so much dots and lines are out of the question and my mind is like a grasshopper jumping around so much I thought I had best keep my work simple. This is quite therapeutic though. I am practising encasing and really feel like I have cracked it at last, I can encase quite nicely now and am very pleased with myself.

Oh no ran out of gas...

I was on a complete roll on Monday I made a ton of beads some for orders very simple spacer beads but I also got the time and mojo to play with different designs. And then me gas ran out.......
Should not moan really I knew it was on its way out cos I had it for over a year. It is a 19kg cannister so quite big and I only get a max of 10 hours a week on the torch if that sometimes. I am glad it ran out monday cos I have a lesson booked for tomorrow and it would have been pretty dire to have the gas run out in the middle of teaching :-/

Anyway I am sitting here now waiting for the postman my glass order should be arriving and then I gotta go out and get new gas and post Victoria's prize from my prize draw.

I will be back up studio tonight for another session on the torch to complete an order for spacer beads and then to carry on playing with a couple of designs! I have updated my website with new beads and also my Etsy shop. Links are over on the right hand side of this page.

Happy Wednesday to you all

Yay..it's Wednesday and it's my day off.....

I am lovin' Wednesdays. Even though it has not panned out quite the way I wanted it to I love my day off! it breaks the week up beautifully and I get a day to chill. And today it is even better...Savannah is poorly (not that that is why today is good!!!) and I have not had to take a day off work to be with her! I know it is not the best way to spend your day off but we are sitting in the living room watchin "Happy Feet", she is cuddly and life is good!

Other news....The deed is done, my entry for the "Beads and Beyond" Competition has been submitted. Juts gotta wait now and see what happens. There has been a bit of discussion on Frit Happens about entering and general concencus is that if we want to raise the profile of the UK lampworking community then as many as possible had to enter! I think a goodly number from FH have entered which is awesome. I can't wait to see everyone's entry cos we have kept them secret from each other. I don't think there will be to many surprises when my entry is seen it is an evolution of what I have been doing a lot of lately! That said I am very happy with what I have made and that is what counts. I was going to sell them once the competition was finished but I think I am going to keep them for myself!

If you have not visited my website lately then go take a lookie. I have had over 3000 visitors and to celebrate I am having a prize draw. All the info is on my website!

I am adding some new spacer beads to the Spacer bead shop today as well and I have a couple of ideas about this which I am sitting on for a little while but think it will be quite cool! Not to revolutionary but quite useful for my customers!

Speaking of customers...the website is doing ok at the moment, despite the "Credit Crunch" or at least I am able to keep myself in glass which is what I initially set out to do!

Right "Happy Feet" is calling me...I love that film!!!
